Is Google Bard Better than Chatgpt? 7 Major Differences & Benefits

Everyone has a new question that is now trending Is Google Bard Better than Chatgpt? In November last year, the American technology company Openai brought the artificial intelligence-powered chatbot Chatgpt. After the launch of Microsoft-funded ChatGpt, it quickly gained popularity. Google has created an artificial intelligence-powered chatbot named BARD to compete with Chatgpt. The chatbot opened for US and UK residents on Tuesday 2023. Google has been testing this Ai technology underlying Bard since 2015.

According to Google’s information, Like similar chatbots, Bard is also based on a kind of A.I. technology that defines a Large Language Model, or L.L.M., which learns skills by analyzing vast amounts of data from across the authentic and real sources of the internet.

Google was working on making an artificial intelligence-powered chatbot called Bard at the beginning of 2022. This chatbot has been used by Google’s engineers and testers as a test or beta so far. This chatbot can answer any question in English. As a result, the chatbot can be used separately.

Google’s artificial intelligence technology LAMDA (Language Model for Dialogue Application) technology is basically created by using the chatbot called BARD. Google’s vice president of research Jovin Gormani said it will be open to everyone after getting a rough estimate of US and UK usage.

Difference Between CHATGPT and Google BARD:

I try to tell you what I understand and also try to explain the differences between BARD and ChatGPT which is gathered from my own research.

At a basic level, both BARD and ChatGPT are chatbots that use natural language processing to generate human-like responses to prompts or queries. However, there are several key differences between the two:

1. Coding:

ChatGPT has gained recognition for its ability to create complex code, and it can even debug code. Researchers have found that ChatGPT is competitive with common deep-learning approaches and produces notably better results than standard program repair techniques. In contrast, Google has stated that BARD is still learning code and does not yet have this feature available.

However, BARD includes language models such as LaMDA, which can help developers understand natural language queries and provide useful information, including code snippets, in response to those queries. For example, if a developer searches for “how to create a REST API in Python,” Google Search powered by BARD could provide relevant documentation, tutorials, and code examples.

2. Conversation Retention:

ChatGPT is able to remember what was said in previous conversations, although it can only store up to 3,000 words and doesn’t use past conversations to form responses. BARD’s ability to retain context is currently limited, but Google claims this will improve over time.

3. Responses:

BARD’s LaMDA can draw responses from the internet, allowing it to offer the latest information and research. It’s also integrated into Google’s search engine and can provide direct links to websites. ChatGPT, on the other hand, relies on its knowledge base, which has a cutoff date of September 2021, so it’s limited in terms of providing the latest information.

4. Language:

ChatGPT is proficient in several languages, including Spanish, French, Arabic, Mandarin, Italian, Japanese, and Korean. In contrast, BARD is only available in English.

5. Drafts:

BARD creates multiple versions of responses to prompts, allowing users to select the best response. This was implemented to avoid a sense of authoritativeness when only one response is used. ChatGPT only produces one response to each question.

6. Respective design and training:

The major differences between Bard and ChatGPT lie in their respective design and training. Bard is intended to draw responses from the internet in real time, providing more up-to-date and factual information on current events and research. It is also designed to understand user intent and respond with authentic, human-like conversation. ChatGPT, on the other hand, is trained to generate text based on statistical patterns and is better at textual functions like writing articles or emails, summarizing text, and coming up with content marketing ideas. It functions more as a basic text tool, but it can also perform roles like a chatbot, a translator, and a summarizer.

7. BARD depends on Google search while CHATGPT belongs to Bing:

Bard is expected to be integrated into Google Search and provide a streamlined version of it, while ChatGPT belongs to Bing. Bard is expected to improve research and understanding across education and business fields, while ChatGPT is more focused on text functions. However, since Bard is not accessible to the general public yet, ChatGPT is currently more accessible and user-friendly.

Benefits of BARD & CHATGPT:
