Malai Chaap Recipe with Yogurt and Fresh Cream

Malai chaap is a type of Indian dessert made with soy milk, yogurt, sugar, and cardamom. It is often served in the winter months. This recipe has many health benefits and offers great nutritional value. It provides your body with calcium, potassium, vitamin A, vitamin D, and vitamin B12.

Ingredients of Malai Chap:

  • 4 Servings
  • 8 malai chaap
  • 1 cup of yogurt (curd)
  • 1 cup of fresh cream
  • 1 teaspoon of coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon of ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon of gram masala powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped coriander leaves
  • 5 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Water as required
  • 1 large chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

How to Make Malai Chaap:

  1. Soak the rice balls in water for 20-25 minutes to start making delicious Malai rice balls. 
  2. Then add garlic paste, ginger paste, pepper, curd, cream, coriander powder, garam masala, 1 tablespoon oil, lemon juice, and salt in a bowl.  Mix the ingredients well by hand.
  3. Remove the water-soaked press, squeeze excess water from the chops through a sieve, and place in a bowl. 
  4. Coat the patties well with the marinade.  Now cover the bowl with foil paper and keep it in the fridge for about an hour.
  5. In a pan, heat 3-4 tbsp olive oil and fry the marinated scallions without spices in the fry pan until golden in colour.  When done, remove from the oven and cut the chap into pieces.
  6. Now in a frying pan with 1 Tbs of olive oil add chopped onion and stir well till soft.
  7. When the onions become soft, pour the fried pressure pieces and the marinated spices into the fry pan.
  8. Mix all the ingredients well. Cover the pan with a lid and let the chaaps cook for 3-4 minutes on low flame and add salt as per taste.
  9. Remove from heat, mix well and transfer the chaaps to a bowl. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve.
