Whether you have dry, oily, normal, combination, or sensitive skin, it takes some time to adjust to the winter weather. Because in winter, the uppermost layer of the skin, the epidermis, decreases the amount of water, and dryness increases.

In addition, during this time, the amount of water and food also decreases, due to which dryness increases.  So in winter, the skin needs extra care.  Below are some tips on how to take extra care of your skin in winter.

Various skin problems occur in winter, such as chapped lips, peeling skin from ankles, and dandruff-filled hair. Therefore, winter skin needs more care than any other season.  Below are some tips that you can use to create your winter skincare routine.

1. Reduce chapped lips in Winter:

Some home packs are very effective for lip skin care. That’s why lips should be scrubbed well before going to sleep at night. Mix 1/2 teaspoon of sour yogurt with 1/2 teaspoon of icing sugar and wait for 10 minutes. Massage well before washing off as this will increase blood circulation as well as remove dead skin cells. 

After cleaning the skin with a scrubber, rub a piece of lemon on the lips, this will reduce the blackness of the lips. Then wash your lips and apply lip balm.  But those who have dry lips can use olive oil. You can use this method 2–3 days a week.

Is it right to give glycerin directly to the lips?

In winter, many people use glycerin directly on the lips.  It doesn’t do any good, but it damages the lips more. Dermatologists suggest that if glycerine is to be used on the lips, then it must be added with any other ingredients. For example, if you want to add rose water, mix 10 parts of rose water with 3 parts of glycerin.  Those who can avoid dryness problems in winter can use moisturizer or lip balm. In case of excessive dryness, the problem can use petroleum jelly rich in cocoa butter or can use butter instead of lip balm.

Can lipstick be given to chapped lips?

Can those whose lips are already chapped use lipstick when attending a function?  This question arises in the mind of many.  A tip for them is to apply glycerine thickly on your lips approximately 1 hour before you go to attend any function.  However, it is better not to use matte lipstick at this time because matte lipstick makes the lips drier.

Use a primer before applying lipstick.  Also, drink more water in winter and eat fruits rich in vitamin C.  Because vitamin C is very effective in making the skin glow and healthy skin.  Also, try to keep vegetable soup in the diet.  Green vegetables help to increase the brightness of the skin.  Many people wet their lips with their tongues when their lips are dry.  It cannot be done at all. 

Apply lip balm or moisturizer only if lips are dry.  Never go to bed without wearing lipstick.  You can use coconut oil or olive oil on your lips before going to sleep.  Apart from this, it is better to stay away from using lip balm or face wash because it makes the skin of the lips drier.

2. Reduce the dryness of the skin in Winter

Experts recommend drinking water after waking up in the morning. Water helps skin retain moisture. Drink plenty of water every day to flush out the body’s pollutants and toxins. After waking up in the morning you should clean your skin with cleansing milk if you have a dry skin type. Then wipe the face lightly with a clean towel. Those whose skin is extra dry can clean the skin with milk if they want. Milk helps in maintaining the skin’s moisture and gives the skin a distinct bright look.

Then you can use toner if you want. Toners basically maintain the skin’s normal pH level, remove excess oil from the skin and help reduce acne. You can also use rose water if you want. After using me or rose water, you can use the serum on the skin if you want. Tells you it helps to eliminate and increase brightness.  But it is not mandatory. Honey is also a very beneficial ingredient for dry skin. If you want one day a week, you can mix rice powder, honey, and gram flour and make a face pack and leave it for a while and wash it off.

Apply sunscreen afterward.  It is better to leave the house for 15 to 20 minutes after using the cream. An adequate amount of sunscreen should be applied not only on the face but also on the hands and feet. 3. Fix your sunburned skin

In winter, many people sit comfortably in the heat of the sun. But sitting in the sun at this time can burn your skin. Because at that time, ultraviolet rays affect the skin. Everyone needs to sunbathe their bodies for a while because sunlight is a direct source of vitamin D. However, If for some reason you have to stay in the sun for a long time, then you must apply sunscreen on the body before going out.

You can mix gram flour and canned water together to make a paste and use it. Apply the paste and wait for 20 minutes and then wash it off.  Sunburn causes an uneven tone on the face.

After sleeping through the night, our skin secretes a type of oil. It has an adverse effect on the overall appearance of those with oily skin.  So clean the skin well with a good brand of face cleanser. Cleanse with a foaming cleanser if the skin is oily. Lemon and aloe vera are very good natural ingredients for removing oil and dirt from your skin. The use of gram flour is very beneficial for dry skin types. You can also use cucumber and Banana twice a week. It gives you fresh oil-free glowing skin. 5. Reduce dandruff in Winter

Why is dandruff?

  • Soak 1 tablespoon of fenugreek seeds and 1 tablespoon of fenugreek in water overnight.  The next day, make a paste of it and apply it on the head for 30–40 minutes before taking a bath. Dandruff will reduce to a large extent. 
  • Honey and lemon are very effective in removing dandruff.  Mix 3 tablespoons of honey with lemon juice and apply it to your hair to remove dandruff. 
  • You can use ginger and onion juice for dandruff.  After crushing ginger and onion, extract the juice with the help of cotton or twist the crushed part in a cloth and rub the juice on the scalp. 
  • Aloe vera contains anti-fungal properties that help in removing dandruff.  Take out the aloe vera gel from the aloe leaves and apply it on the skin and massage it slowly.

How to prevent it:

Many people think that hair oil gets rid of dandruff, but it is not true at all.  Instead, dandruff settles on the scalp, which creates the fear of fungal attack. You have to shampoo daily to stay free from dandruff. If you mix lemon juice with the shampoo, the tendency to get dandruff is reduced. Also, drink more water in all seasons of the year, especially in winter. Along with this, there should be a change in the diet.

Add foods that are rich in vitamin B, zinc, and omega-3 fatty acids to your diet as they help to relieve dry skin. Since there is dusty sand or dry weather outside in winter, you can go out with a scarf or a hat on your head. If there is an infection on the scalp, hair color should not be used. The main condition for being free from dandruff is cleanliness. Wash your hair well after taking a bath and comb your hair daily with a wide-toothed comb.

6. Prevent skin allergies in winter

Many people have psoriasis that spreads all over the body. Eczema can occur between the toes. The area thickens like a rash and becomes hard and itchy. Many people are full of lumps. Many people also have swelling of the skin. Many people have a loose skin layer in the places where the skin folds.

During these 3 months of the year, it is recommended to take vitamin supplements like vitamins D, E, C, etc. If these vitamins are not available in the right amount through food, then the doctor prescribes the vitamins at this time. For rash, you can mix olive oil with water and apply it on the skin, which will easily blend with the skin.

Vaseline works well for loose skin. You can also mix equal amounts of glycerin and water. Then wrap the area with cellophane paper. For psoriasis, mix 1 teaspoon of alum with rose water and use it while taking a bath.

7. Get rid of the problem of cracked feet in winter

Those who have a tendency to sweat their feet in winter can apply body spray and lotion on their feet.  Take saffron hot water in a big bowl. Add a pinch of salt and a teaspoon of shampoo to it and mix olive oil.  Now soak your feet in this water for half an hour.  After that, you have to rub the heel of your feet well with a cloth, it will remove the dead cells.

Then wipe it with a towel and apply moisturizer, or you can make a pack and apply it. Ripe papaya, ripe banana, and apple with a few drops of olive oil and milk and mix well for 15 minutes.  Put it on your feet. Then wash and apply moisturizer.
